Lancome Hypnôse Doll Lashes Set

this is the Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes set (also includes an artliner) i bought it for 29.50 on sephora.com. the reason i wanted to try this so badly was for the mascara mostly, and the artliner. i don't usually wear liquid liner too much though. anyway, the mascara and cils booster XL are my two favorites! the cils booster was a pleasant surprise. i will never wear mascara without that underneath again! totally buying the full size of that shit.
no mascara, or concealer....don't judge.
so, this is my naked eye.
and this is my eye with the cils booster+doll eyes mascara.
no concealer still, but this blog is about the mascara!
the formula of this mascara is wet-ish...but not too wet. if you like wet types of mascara without it being too wet to smudge all over the place, you'll love this one. i have only worn this with the lash booster under it, so i'd recommend the combo if you want to achieve length like above.
unfortunately, this set is not in stock on sephora.com.
this really is helpful to buy to try out the cils booster, but maybe the sephora stores would have a sample size to try? this combo is so worth it though, so happy i bought it!

new camera arrived today!

now, i am waiting on my memory card....

new nail polish rack!

one of my birthday gifts this year was this very much needed nail polish rack. it only holds 60 bottles though:[ so i guess i need to stop buying a new color every time i go out and use the ones i have!! easier said than done...
my sister really wanted to organize them dark to light. i have a wide variety of colors so it made the transitioning from color to color easy. there's about one shelf empty for new polishes, but i had to throw about 30 away before moving into the new rack. the ones i threw away were older, separated, and very similar to some nicer name brand polishes in better shape.

the majority of my collection consists of sephora by opi or china glaze. sinful colors is a drugstore favorite of mine, followed by a few revlon, and sally hansen. i also have 3 nicole by opi, 2 mac, 1 essie, 1 milani, 1 rimmel, and 1 NYX color.
as you can tell, opi and china glaze are my favorite high end polishes. although i do like my 1 essie polish as well, i need to venture more into that brand! sinful colors is very affordable at 1.99, and for that price it's a good wearing polish too! next on my list is to try butter london, i'm just not a fan of the price:/

what are your favorite brands?

miss piggy pink eyeshadow

-Miss Piggy Pink MAC eyeshadow-

with all of the hype over this new movie, i felt i had to buy something from the miss piggy collection when mac released it online. i was a bit disappointed, though. i thought they could do more pink things, like, lipsticks, glosses, blush, nail polish, etc. i went with the one eyeshadow called miss piggy pink. it was more of an "omg i need this pink just because" buy, rather than a "omg i will wear this color everyday it's so great" buy. but i will say, it makes my eyes really green! so that's pretty cool.

i really had to pack the color on my brush though. i don't really do that often, i have very pigmented colors i use on a day to day basis. i was expecting this eyeshadow not to require so much "work" to get the intensity i wanted. (i haven't order from mac in like a year, so i was a little disappointed.) but i guess you can just call this color build-able, if you want a light wash of pink, or bright pink.

(with too faced shadow insurance primer)
i am really interested in getting my hands on the OPI muppets nail polishes, and i had to buy this shadow because it's so PINK. and i don't have many mac shadows:-p i wouldn't say this is their best shadow, and i don't think it's worth 15.50, so if you're a fan of the muppets and pink i think you should get this!

nail polish look!

(just painted them, still kind of messy-ish:/)
i needed some new colors on my nails but i couldn't choose between the 2.
these are both colors from the China Glaze Metro Collection, Fall 2011. the grey color is Concrete Catwalk and the blue sparkly one is Skyscraper. i really like this combo! i didn't want to do "thanksgiving" colors, so these were my next choice:-p what do you think?

laura mercier creme smooth foundation

my thoughts on Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Foundation
alright, i decided to blog about this because it isn't a rave review about this foundation. i'm not very happy with it and i should have listened to my gut instinct before buying.

about a year ago, i had a 20% off at sephora around christmas time. after seeing many youtube videos about the notorious Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, i was dead set on buying it with my coupon. i went to the mall one night with some friends and we went to sephora. i made my way straight to the Laura Mercier products and spoke to a sephora lady standing there. she asked me what i was looking for and blah blah blah. i told her without hesitation that i really wanted to try her tinted moisturizer....but i also mentioned i had redness on my face that i wanted to cover. i guess i shouldn't have said that because she directed me over to another one of Laura Mercier's products that is more full coverage. meh....i was willing to give it a shot a suppose. deep down i was telling myself to go with the tinted moisturizer because i've heard awesome reviews about it. but i listened to the lady and tried out the creme smooth foundation. anyway, i ended up buying it for 50 dollars, more than i wanted to spend. i tried it out for a few days and enjoyed it for the most part. (i was using this around november-december and i am in shade blush ivory.)

once i started wearing it more and more, i realized how greasy it made me feel. it made my face feel smooth, but heavy and slick. and i don't have oily skin by any means! then as i started wearing it more into the late winter (january-febuary) i noticed it doing something else to my face, making it drier and flakier when i applied it. this was not cool seeing as my skin type is already dry! i know the dryness was probably accentuated with the cold air, but still, i wasn't happy. i figured i'd just take some time off from wearing it and pick it back up in the spring. so that's what i did and it worked for a few months!!..until it got too warm in the summertime to be wearing that heavy of a foundation.
i don't want to say it was a waste of 50 bucks, but i definitely should have stuck to my guns and spent my money on the tinted moisturizer. at least it's a full coverage foundation, that agrees with my skin during march-june. that and the packaging is nice with the frosted jar.

introduction and a little review

hello everyone! i hope you all enjoy my blog, i will try my hardest to update often and make my posts as informative as possible. feel free to ask me any questions in the comments, or ask my opinion on certain things. i really look forward to talking to you and helping you out with whatever make-up inquiries you have:]

so with that said....on to my first post!

-Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters-
i'm sure you've all seen numerous blogs about these bad boys, but let me tell you, they are worth all the hype!
my sister and i were on the hunt for these (me more than her) and the only place near me i could find them is rite aid. (walgreens is a few towns over, along with cvs, and wal-mart) so, unfortunately, i had to pay the price of $7.49 which i wasn't too pleased about. i'm on the look out for any sales on revlon products at my local rite aid now:-p
i'm pretty satisfied with the colors i chose, although they are probably the most sheer shades. personally, i'm a little intimidated by brighter lip colors, so i stick to sheer. but i have seen many videos on these lip products now and i think i'll try a more daring shade.
here are my 3, Creamsicle, Gumdrop, and Sugar Frosting.
i love all 3! they are very moisturizing and they have a glossy look to them. they are also quite pigmented (even though these are the lighter shades, but they give off a little bit of color) also if you've seen swatches and reviews on youtube you know what i mean by pigmented. it seems to me they have all the qualities that someone looks for in lip products. moisture, color, and gloss.  the only downfall is you have to re-apply probably every 2 hours. but since they feel so good, that doesn't seem like much of a problem!

the more i look at these swatches, the more i realize you can't quite see the shades...
but nonetheless, the purple-ish one is Gumdrop.
Gumdrop seems to have little flecks of silver sparkle in the tube, but i didn't notice shimmer on the lips when applied. i've never worn anything on my lips that is so "purple" so i was skeptical, but it was unlike anything i had for lips so i decided to get it. i actually really like it! it's not an overwhelming purple, more of a pale lilaic. i'm glad i purchased it!
Sugar Frosting is a very light, pale pink. i didn't notice any shimmer when i looked at this in the tube, but it goes on the lips so lightly. i think of this one as my go-to lip product if i am wearing a lot of make-up on my eyes and just want a little something on my lips, but not too loud.

and this one is Creamsicle. this one is straight matte, no shimmer to it. it's sort of more on the orange side of a nude, but it definitely falls under the nude category. i like paler/nude colors so that's why i picked it up! i hadn't seen this one on many reviews, so i didn't have swatches to go by. it's not as orange as a creamsicle, but just be warned there is an orange hue to it!

basically, i love these lip products! they are a quick and easy choice instead of doing the whole lipliner, lipstick, gloss thing. all of these colors seem to go very well with my skin tone (fair, porcelain, etc.) and as always, the packaging is as cute as ever! a must have in every girl's purse:]
